Elections for the Vice President and the Treasurer 2022

Last Friday, May 13th 2022 we held the elections for two of the positions in the Seattle-Gdynia Sister City Association: Vice President and Treasurer. Both of the positions were filled with unanimous votes of the members of the association for the next two-year term.

Ania Kaminski was elected the Treasurer of our organization for her another, consecutive term. Ania has been successfully running the finances of our organization for many years now, and we’re proud to entrust her two more years in the function. In addition to her responsibilities as the Treasurer of the association, Ania also volunteers in many events around Seattle Polish Film Festival.

Paul Griffin, who had been Vice President of the Association had decided no to look the re-election. His hard work and dedication helped us grow and appreciate Paul for his effort. The new Vice President was elected Anna Babcock, who will be joining her responsibilities in Seattle-Gdynia Sister City Association with those of Director of Marketing and Events of Polish-American Chamber of Commerce in Pacific Northwest.

Anna holds a double degree in Foreign Trade and Organization and Management from University of Gdansk in Poland. Before moving to the US she worked for export/import companies In Warsaw and her hometown Gdynia. Currently working for Holland America Line as an Onboard Event Planner. She has served the Polish Community as a teacher at the Polish School in Seattle for over 15 years, holding the position of the school principal in 2008-2010. Volunteered at many schools’ fundraising events, participated at numerous Polish teachers’ conventions and training workshops throughout the country. Represented the school at traditional Polish community ceremonies at the Polish Cultural Center in Seattle. As a member of the Seattle Gdynia Sister City Association, is assisting with Gdynia Business Week project as well as a special financial aid project supporting best academically achieved students at a local high school in Gdynia. Immensely proud to be part of the Polish Community in Seattle.

We are looking forward to both Ania and Anna to contribute to the growth of the Seattle-Gdynia Sister City Association and wish them both success!
